If you’re reading this, I am sure you have never been stressed, or anxious in your entire life and live a life of complete peace and understanding. If that is not you, then you’re in the right place. Anxiety is a totally normal thing to deal with, but it still is so stressful, and eats at your time, and the ability to be present in your life! So, let’s look at a few things the bible has to say about anxiety, and how God wants us to handle it.

  1. “Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.” (1 Peter 5:7)

  2. “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:6-7)

  3. “Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?” (Matthew 6:27)

  4. “When anxiety was great within me, your consolation brought me joy.” (Psalm 94:19)

  5. “For nothing will be impossible with God.” (Luke 1:37)

I especially love what Matthew 6:7 says about anxiety. Why worry, when it is not going to add 1 more minute to your life, but really cause you to be less present and miss the things you want most. Things like coloring with your kids, enjoying college life, the smell of a bonfire, fireworks on 4th of July, or soaking in the sun and the beach on vacation.

Cast the anxiety, worry and stress in your life on God today, because what more will it bring to your life to hold onto it, and not give up that control? Nothing you are carrying is too big for the Creator for the universe.
