Walking With Jesus

Have you ever heard the Footprints poem? This is one of my favorite reminders that God walks with us in every situation.
In the beginning it talks about a man having a dream, and in that dream, he is walking on a beach. In the sky he sees flashes of his life pass him by, and in each memory, he sees two sets of footprints. In the particularly saddest, hardest times of his life he sees only one set of footprints. So, he talks to God and asks, “God why is it in my worst moments that you were not there for me?” So, understandably this person is upset, right? He saw God with him in all of the good moments with those two sets of footprints, but in the bad ones, his is the only set of footprints he sees?
God responds to the man and essentially says, “you goofball, in those moments when you were at your lowest, I carried you.” So, even when this man had a hard time knowing where God was in his darkest times, in reality, God never left.
The bible has a lot to say about this, in Deuteronomy 31:8 it says, “It is the Lord who goes before you. He will be with you; he will not leave you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed.” In Hebrews 13:5 it says, “Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for he has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” and in Deuteronomy 31:6 it says. “Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you.”
So whether right now you are in a place of joy and happiness, or pain and sadness, God will never leave or forsake you.
